snowgray - PKF Ante

At least I think it’s a PKF Ante! I get lost with Fairyland’s sizing sometimes. Owner requested very specific eyebrows, along with color palette (dark brown eyebrows, black eyelashes, light blush, pink/natural lips). Haven’t painted on such a teeny head in a while! Did not have any wigs to fit.

Edit: Found wig in box head was shipped in and took new photos. :)

Oh my goodness. Your work is absolutely incredible…

Thank you very much for your kind words! It was really interesting painting on such a small head— I hadn’t done it in a while.

Also, heads up to everyone else— I’m at 97 followers now. Three more and I’ll have to uphold my promise of holding face-up giveaways more often, haha! Whoops. :p

You’re very welcome! I’ve only really done SD faceups and they’ve all been very simple so far - I can’t imagine painting such a small head!

PS I’m glad to hear you’re getting close to 100 followers…I am all over the idea of faceup giveaways! ;D

I think learning to paint with 6-7” heads is a lot like learning how to ride a bike without training wheels ever, actually! With SD heads, you don’t need to take the picture as close to the head as you would a MSD, so you can get away with brushstrokes that are not hair-thin and blushing that is splotchy a bit easier with SDs than with a MSD or smaller head. ;D It makes your initial works far more embarrassing when to get a good photo of what you’re painting you have to take a much closer photo, haha! I hope it paid off though. Are you still painting now? It’s really fun but frustrating to paint…

Also yeah, it surprised me how the followers basically doubled in two weeks but I know it’s because I used the magic word… free! Hahahaha. I would be doing the same if it was someone else giving out free face-ups too, most likely, haha.

Ugh sorry guys I keep reblogging things to the wrong blogs!

I haven’t painted any heads in a while, but I want to redo three of my boys’ faceups real soon, once I get more sealant. Yeah I agree with you on SD heads being easier to paint! I attempted an msd sized head once but it was just unending frustration all over the place!  Practice makes perfect, I suppose~

So glad I followed you~ I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future! ^3^

If you’re having a hard time getting nice sealant (like MSC— which has a price increase recently, gahhh!) locally, I think Purity Seal is a really affordable alternative. I actually like it more than MSC and you get a giant can that lasts you super long and is great for the price! I found it really easily at a shop less than ten miles away from my house, haha! Good luck good luck. <3

I look forward to seeing your work in the future too! XD
